Digg Ignores Requests for a Picture Section
Are you tired of all the “cool picture” or “funny photo” posts on Digg?
The Problem. Consider these stupid, yet popular, recent diggs: this, this, this, this, this, this, and this picture, just to name a few. I’ll admit, I’ve dugg a few pictures, but now they are getting annoying because popular pictures too often get dugg, driving down good, interesting, and important Digg stories.
User Frustration. Digg users have requested a separate Digg section for pictures, receiving thousands of diggs: here and here. One Digg user even showed how easy it was to get stupid pictures rated high on Digg. (Even demigod Robert Scoble has criticized Digg for “Too much crap!“)
The Solution. We don’t want pictures banned, we just want them separated out of the other sections into their own section.
Despite user requests, Digg has failed to create a picture section. To be fair, maybe Digg is working on it. (Also, maybe we should just be grateful for the great, free service that Digg provides.)
What can you do? If you agree that Digg needs a separate section for pictures, digg this article to send a clear message to Digg that a picture section is needed.
